I have been
feeling very sad recently especially in light of recent world news.
As you may have heard, the Chinese are cracking down very hard on the Tibetans in Tibet. Many have died recently and we can only imagine the brutality that is going on without media there. It is a terribly sad time. The conditions in Tibet for Tibetans are terrible and have been so for many years. It was incredibly brave for the monks who began the peaceful protests against Chinese rule. The Chinese are heavily armed with weapons while the Tibetans have only rocks. |

| Please pass our
mail to the other Grandmothers as we ask for their prayers during
this difficult time and hope that positive actions may come to help
the suffering of the Tibetans. Please can you send letters to your government representatives asking for them to condemn the killings in Tibet and ask them to help resolve the conflict peacefully? With love, Grandmother Tsering Dolma Gyaltong |

Grandma Tsering respectfully
requests that friends of the Grandmothers sign an urgent
petition calling on the Chinese government to respect human
rights in Tibet and enter into dialogue with the Dalai Lama. We
don't usually post requests of this kind, but we feel that this
is really important and we thought you might want to take
action. President Hu Jintao needs to hear that "Made in China" exports and the upcoming Olympics in Beijing will have the support of the world's people only if he chooses dialogue. But it will take an avalanche of global people power to get his attention. Click below to sign the petition. We are gathering millions of signatures! photos: flickr.com and bbc |
