On September 21, 2004, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian will celebrate the debut of a magnificent new museum on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. To honor this momentous occasion, a procession of Native and non-Native supporters will join in a highly symbolic journey to the site of the Opening Ceremonies. This grandest of grand entries will include thousands of Native peoples from every corner of the Americas. The National Association for Multicultural Education has registered for the Native Nations Procession. NAME and Native Village invite all interested members, educators, students, and friends to walk with us during this once-a-lifetime event. This is truly a celebration of magnificent Peoples and their cultures. Registration information is included below. |
